Although robust and fully developed, Bridgestone's OPC-14 bicycle won Japanese and International Industrial Design awards for its practical understated elegance and its wonderfully clever simplicity.The original model used a bolt-in seatstay joint and aV-section toothed drive belt. Later models as shown used chain. Silver at first, but a range of pastel and jeweltone colors later. Production was very small, from its inception in about 1985 to its demise about ten years later.
